"In celebration of Martini Day, we'd like to tip our tipple to Winston Churchill,
who was a connoisseur of the simple, delicious martini. Gin, stir,
strain into a chilled glass, garnish with a large olive (or three). He
used to say "I would like to observe the vermouth from across the room
while I drink my martini. Leaving as much room for gin as possible,
naturally."
BULLDOG Gin is a handcrafted premium spirit, which is distilled in England. 12 Botanicals are used, whereas some are well-known and common (Juniper, Lemon) and some are really extra-ordinary (e.g. white poppy seeds, chinese dragon eye).
It comes in an awesome looking big black bottle with a studded collar. It looks quite rough and mean, but what's inside is the complete opposite. BULLDOG Gin entered the market in 2007 to change it forever... ;-)
BULLDOG has been rated "SUPERB (90-95)"
by Paul Pacult, Wine Enthusiast Magazine and a "Top 50 Spirit."
Tasting
On the nose it is fresh, floral, a bit sweet, mild and appealing. The juniper is there, but not overwhelming and integrates well into the whole.
In the mouth it is surprisingly mild, a bit of citrus, of course the juniper, but also spices and a hint of poppy. I was really impressed by this Gin, as it is on the one hand a quite classic taste, on the other hand there a little bits of new influences that create a stunningly rounfd drinking experience.
There is no alcohol burn, and due to its mildness BULLDOG Gin is very approachable and I really enjoyed it on the rocks, but it also mixes great in a Gin Tonic or a BULLDOG GIMLET (see recipe below). Absolutely recommended!

Recipe
I really can recommend the following recipe - as quite classic, refreshing and perfectly smooth.
BULLDOG GIMLET
You need to blend
1-1/2 oz. BULLDOG Gin
1 oz. Lime Juice
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup.
Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. And enjoy!! :-)
